Prep the tempeh
Cut the Holy Plantz chickpea tempeh into ~2 cm cubes. Place in a steamer basket over simmering water and steam for 15 minutes to soften. -
Blend base ingredients
In a food processor, combine steamed tempeh, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, and salt. Process until it forms a thick, grainy paste. -
Adjust texture
With the motor running, slowly drizzle in cold water until the hummus becomes smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides as needed. -
Finish with olive oil
Add olive oil and blend briefly until fully incorporated. -
Taste and tweak
Adjust seasoning—add more lemon for brightness, salt for balance, or water for silkiness. -
Serve
Spoon into a shallow bowl, swirl with the back of a spoon, drizzle with olive oil, and garnish as desired. Enjoy with warm pita, fresh vegetables, or as a spread.
